Yuri Macyk was born in Uzhgorod in 1956 and graduated from the Uzhgorod arts and crafts college in 1992. Being a romantic and a day-dreamer, he accentuates beauty, harmony, and the bright side of life in his paintings. A distinctive depiction of dreams, thoughts, and feelings in vivid colours and images is how he expresses his artistic creativity. He uses a method of composition based on the forming of an artistic image from associatively related fragments of reality. Mr Macyk can be described as being both a naïve folk artist and a serious trained professional. Mr Macyk lives and works in Moscow.
