Since we had Epiphany recently, I was searching for an appropriate art work to illustrate the feast. This work by Kustodiev fills the bill in more ways than one. If anything, this work reveals the deep Orthodox roots of the Russian culture. If one puts an axe to that, one destroys the source of the entire edifice. Something to think about…
