Just as the painting below, Bereginya, is a just evocation of a strong woman, this work is an apt depiction of a strong man. I find it to be a fitting metaphor for Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. You can see how Mr Olshansky’s work has matured over the years.
If you look carefully at the prow of the boat, you shall see the combined Cyrillic letters “BO” (for Boris Olshansky) there. A nice little touch, no?
