This is the first day of the Great Lent for Orthodox Christians. Many of us keep the first week of the Lent, and the Holy Week, in a stricter fashion than the rest of the Lent. Therefore, I shall not be having an “artist of the week” this week. I shall be posting more sparingly, and the posts shall be of an inspirational or religious character. It is time for me to attend to my religious duties, duties that I do NOT find onerous at all.
To my Orthodox friends, I wish you a blessed Lent.
To my non-Orthodox Christian friends, I wish you a blessed Palm Sunday on the next Sunday and a profitable Holy Week afterwards.
I wish my Jewish friends a most blessed Pesach.
To my non-religious friends, I give you my sincere regards and affection, and I ask your indulgence in my reduction in posts this week.
Proshchanie menya! Forgive me!

The text of the poster is S nachalom velikogo posta! (At the Start of the Great Lent (literally “Fast”)).
