The Billowing Sea (Ivan Aivazovsky, 1889)
Aivazovsky was the premier Russian painter of the sea. I saw Lisa’s seascape on her site, and this popped into mind, for it is one of the most famous Russian sea paintings. This one’s for you, Lisa!
