The Rays of the Setting Sun (Vasili Baksheyev, 1942)

Baksheyev had a long and productive life, for he died at the age of 96 in 1958. He spent most of this time teaching, it was safer, you know, but, he did produce paintings of his own. There is a span of 49 years between the first painting by Baksheyev and this one, and that was not his entire career!
