In the Carpathians
Tatyana Bogonina-Vlasova
2002
This work, as with the one below, takes the brave Carpatho-Russian people of Podkarpatskaya Krai in the far west as its inspiration. Today, the Galician Uniate junta in Kiev refuses to recognise their nationhood, their language, their culture, or their desire to be in union with their Russian Orthodox brothers. They’re undergoing a Golgotha. They wish to be free, but the pro-American Orangies refuse to give them internal self-government and they refuse to see them as a separate people. Spare a prayer or a thought for these long-suffering and persecuted people.
