Lekh (India)

Viktoriya Rogotneva

2015

In Nepali, a Lekh is a high mountain ridge covered with snow in the winter, but not in the summer. Also, in Hindu/Indian Buddhist usage, it’s a Last Will or Testament. Ergo, “Lekh” in the title isn’t a place-name, it’s a Hindu/Buddhist play on words… a high place, indeed, but also a place of determination (of testifying).
