In Dulce Jubilo. A Christmas Season Offering

Scenes of the Christmas season are combined with the Thomanenchor Leipzig singing a traditional German Christmas song, In Dulce Jubilo. The Thomanenchor is from the Thomaskirche in Saxony (in eastern Germany, in the old DDR), where Johann Sebastian Bach was kappelmeister.

My good wishes to all of you in this most blessed season. Now, if I can just find enough time for preparations…

Untitled (05) (Leonid Baranov, undated)

This is the last work I could find by Mr Baranov, the folk artist. We are going to have to leave Baba and Dede. Isn’t this sweet? After all the years and trials, they are still in love!

Grow old with me, the best is yet to be,

This is the last of life, for which the first was made

Alone with God (Vasili Nesterenko, 1995)

If you notice, the expression on the face of the priest is identical to that of the nun in A Nun by Repin. That is to say, the faith has changed not one iota, jot, or tittle since that time! That is a message for all of us, isn’t it?
